This Week at The Mount Video Announcements

Hello, Mount Members and Friends! These are your announcements…

1.  The time has changed for the Food Distribution at the Church of The Harvest Fishes and Loaves Food Pantry, located at 2701 Gattis School Road. You don’t even have to exit your vehicle, you just open your trunk and the volunteers will put your box of food in the car for you. People start lining up as early as 6:00am. Food Distribution New Time: 7:00am – 9:00am
2. Thank God for another year of service here at the Mount.  We thank each of you for your continued financial support of this church and its many ministries.  You may request your 2024 contribution statements by filling out the GREEN forms in the foyer!
3. Funding for the parking lot project is now underway.  Anyone wishing to contribute to this project can do so by using our regular giving envelope.  Simply designate “Parking Lot Project” on the envelope on the “Special Offering” line.  You can also select this giving option on Givelify.  God bless each of you in advance for support of this effort.
4. The Temple Wellness Ministry is excited to welcome Sis. Lisa Jefferson as our new Fitness Leader. Our new 2025 Mount Sinai Exercise Class will be launching on Thursday, March 6^th at 6 pm in the Gym. Exercise Classes will be offered each Thursday from 6- 6:50 pm and are open to all Mount members and community friends. Please join us and remember, together is better!
5. Do you have a dream of becoming a teacher? If you are in high school, or working on your associate’s degree or have a bachelor’s degree that is not in education, this upcoming session under the sponsorship of  the Deaconess Ministry, is for you. This session will give you the orientation to the alternative certification program in Texas and will help you prepare for the tests! You will, also, get to take a practice test.  Contact Dr. Deanna Mercer, if  you are interested in this upcoming half day session.
6. Get Smart.. (pause).. er! The Mt. Sinai Deaconess Ministry will be providing one-on-one tutoring sessions via phone or zoom to assist with homework or class projects or papers to students in Grades 1 through 12. These sessions are designed to improve academic skills in reading or mathematics and will be held on the 4^th Saturdays monthly beginning February 22^nd from 12:30 to 1:30 pm. Sign up today. Forms are on the front desk in the church foyer. Volunteer tutors are needed.  See Dr. Brenda Burrell or Dr. Deanna Mercer.
7. Spring is in the air and Easter is just around the corner.  The youth ministry is gearing up for this year’s Easter Presentations.  The presentation will be held on Saturday April 12, 2025, at 5:00 p.m.  There are several opportunities for all youth to participate.  There will be Easter speeches, praise dancing and an original play, written by our very own Bro. Keith Robinson.   Please stop by the table in the foyer after service to receive more information and sign up your youth to participate.
8. Women and girls of the Mount, this year our Denim and Diamond Event will be a Prayer Breakfast to be held on Saturday, April 12th at 9:00 am, in the fellowship hall of the Family Life Center. There is a suggested $10.00 donation and our registration will be held each Sunday after morning worship beginning March 23rd until April 6th. Our own Sister Ann Franklin is one of our teachers, along with guest teachers Sister Janary Roberts and Sister Tiffany White from Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Austin where Dr. Daryl Horton is the Pastor.  Then we will be blessed by Sister Jackie Robertson as our general assembly speaker. This program is packed with Spiritual growth and development, so bring a friend and join us.  We Hope to see YOU there!
9. Due to some technical difficulties with our Servant Keeper software affecting outgoing emails in late January and early February, if you requested an email transmission of your contribution statement but have not received it please resubmit your request to jwilliams@themount.net. We apologize for any inconvenience this delay may have caused. And we thank you for your understanding.
10. The Intermediate Mission will be sending care packages to our Young Adult members who are currently enrolled in college or serving our military stateside. If you or someone you know falls into this category, please send name and current mailing/shipping address to Sis. Canya Dawson at canya.dawson@gmail.com or you can give the information to Dr. Joshua Reese. The deadline to have all names submitted is April 13.
11. The St. John Association Fifth Sunday Sub-District Board Meetings will be held on Sunday, March 30^th. The Mount is a part of the Austin//Northeast sub district. Our meeting will be held here at The Mount at 3:00 PM. Rev. Walter Jasper will be the Speaker. Other meetings, times and speakers can be found on our eblast and social media platforms.
12. The St. John Executive Board meeting will be held on Monday, March 31^st at 10:00 a.m. here at The Mount. All Members of St. John are welcome to attend.
13. The Senior Ministry will be “Cruising” in May of 2026 on the Carnival Breeze departing from Galveston. A bus will take us from the church to Galveston and we still have seats available. Join us. For more information, email the travel agent at shellda@shelldagoes.com.
